Canton

Canton, Georgia

One of Metro Atlanta’s more affluent far north suburbs, Canton, like Cartersville, has been the beneficiary of Atlanta’s sprawl. Named for it’s Chinese counterpart, Canton has held an interesting place in Georgia’s history, from being the heart of North Georgia’s “Indian Country” in its early history, to being a major supply point (and being burned by Sherman as a result) in the Civil War. Canton has seen tremendous investment in the last 15 years and is poised to become an economic hub in northwest Georgia.
